An Aerospace Reliability Engineer provides system level reliability analyses, coordination, planning guidance, and support throughout the project life cycle in order to increase confidence in mission success, and help projects understand and manage a wide range of risks associated with each unique mission.

This is a contract position located in Southern California.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform various system level reliability analyses for multiple projects, review these analyses and generate relevant documentation in accordance with standard procedures of the customer.
  • Apply appropriate techniques and processes to quantitatively assess system risks, and recommend/evaluate architectural changes to system hardware, software, or flight operations in support of institutional and project level risk management processes.
  • Apply methods for acquiring quantitative failure statistics such as failure rates and probabilities from flight and test data.
  • Develop Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) techniques for system reliability and integrate them within the MBSE infrastructure in place.
  • Develop reliability requirements for systems, subsystems, and assemblies in support of risk management activities and the overall Systems Engineering processes.
  • Attend project reviews and technical meetings as the representative for the group, and generate required documentation for required decision gates.
  • Create new reliability analysis methods or techniques, and suggest improvements to existing methods in order to improve the overall System Reliability products.
  • Conduct reliability design analyses for board and box level electronics and mechanical systems or components.


Qualifications:

  • Active Top Secret (TS) United States government issued security clearance required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related technical discipline with typically a minimum of 5 year of related experience; or Masters degree in similar disciplines with 4 years of experience.
  • Experience with System Reliability analysis methods such as Fault Tree Analysis, FMECA, Probabilistic Risk Assessment, Root Cause Analysis, etc.
  • Ability to use qualitative reliability analyses to gain insight into overall system risk, support the Risk Informed Decision Making (RIDM) process, and make recommendations to project managers.
  • Experience with the Systems Engineering lifecycle process and products associated with system development and operations.
  • General knowledge of spacecraft design principles and operational characteristics.
  • Understanding of electrical engineering concepts beyond basic foundation courses.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, work well within a team environment and interact with all levels of the organization, including internal and external customers.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Project leadership experience leading small teams to complete projects with cost/schedule/technical management.
  • Experience in Statistics or Probability theory or analysis, including Bayesian Statistical Analysis.
  • Experience with Risk Management and quantitative risk assessment.
  • Familiarity with Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) practices or system modeling techniques.
  • Understanding of PSpice, LTSpice, or similar circuit simulation analysis tool.
  • Experience working with data mining or manipulation of large data sets from multiple repositories.

This is a contract position located in Southern California

Job Responsibilities:

  • Rocket Engine and Systems acquisition, development, manufacturing, test, and flight termination systems operations
  • Attend and participate in preliminary design reviews (PDR,) critical design reviews, (CDR,) ground operations working groups, (GOWGs,) ground operations readiness reviews, (GORR), technical interchange meetings (TIM), Splinter groups, etc….in evaluation of system safety requirements for large missile, space vehicle, rocket, payload, spacecraft, pre-launch, launch, post-launch/range operations and/or recovery operations.
  • Support live rehearsals
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience with launch vehicle upper stage propulsion systems is required, preferably with liquid oxygen/liquid hydrogen systems
  • Direct experience with Solid Rocket Motors and Ordnance systems design, test, manufacturing, and operation is mandatory, e.g., Graphite Epoxy Motors (GEMs), Solid Rocket Boosters (SRBs), Booster Separation Motors (BSMs), Flight Termination Systems, Separation Systems, etc

Requirements:

  • Experience with flight and development hardware processing, integration, testing, and anomaly resolution related to engines, motors, and components required
  • Demonstrated ability to assess design drawings, processes, and procedures of flight termination systems

This is a contract position located in Northridge, CA.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Printed Circuit Board Designer specializing in Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Design and Assembly requires extensive experience in PCB Layout design using the Mentor Graphics design tools with a detailed knowledge of Radio Frequency (RF)/Microwave, analog, and high speed digital layout in the development of innovative design solutions.
  • Regular interface with engineering and project teams in the development of complex printed circuit boards for both industry and government applications.
  • Operate over multiple skill sets in the PCB discipline including: layout, schematic capture, design for manufacturing, signal integrity, and part library maintenance.Creation of complex PCB layouts using Mentor Graphics design tools for Radio Frequency (RF)/Microwave, analog, and high speed digital designs.
  • Ability to maintain Central Component library using industry standards.

Description: A Senior Dynamics Test Engineer who has in-depth knowledge of dynamics analysis and testing.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for acoustic, random vibration and mechanical shock analysis, test requirements, and testing of all spacecraft and instrument components.
  • Perform advanced linear and nonlinear analysis, support project critical design reviews and milestones, and improve test and analysis methodologies.
  • Develop and present test plans, test results analysis and reports
  • Evaluate results for various hardware items at different levels of assembly.
  • Provide dynamics engineering knowledge to projects, including trades, verification approaches and collaborative resolution of design and test issues

  • Experience and advanced knowledge in one or more of the following areas: analytical methodologies and capable of solving complex vibration, acoustic and shock problems, and space structure testing.
  • Understanding and wide application of advanced principles, theories, concepts and techniques in vibration, acoustics and shock analysis and design and test specification for spacecraft systems and subsystems.

Preferred Skills:

  • Domain expert in random dynamic analysis and test, digital signal analysis, instrumentation and data acquisition.
  • Working knowledge of FEM, BEM, and SEA vibro acoustics analysis tools, knowledgeable in PATRAN, FEMAP, MSC/NASTRAN, SDRC/IDEAS, SYSNOISE, and VA One.
  • Knowledgeable in application of force limited vibration specification and test methodologies. Experience in modal testing and analysis.

  • Experience conducting random and quasi-static electro-dynamic shaker vibration tests with multiple controls; measure and analyze time histories of the system response

The lead Mechanical Engineer – Analyst position will be responsible for providing Structural/stress/dynamics Analysis and thermal analysis support to customer-funded programs and internal research efforts.

Job Description:

  • Perform analysis tasks on precision mechanisms and large deployable structures in a program team environment.
  • Program support includes loads derivation, trade studies, design sensitivity/optimization studies, preliminary and final design analysis, generation of analysis documentation (including presentation materials, and deliverable data packages), and integration test support.

Radiation Effects Analyst/Engineer researches, designs, develops, and tests a variety of electronic equipment and systems that are used in space and defense applications. This Analyst and/or Engineer must possess experience with the following: circuit design/simulation, part evaluations, parameter degradation, single event effects, single event upset, single event transients, meteoroid/orbital debris, electron/proton/x-ray transport, atomic oxygen calculations, dose-depth curves, displacement damage-depth curves, dose mapping, radiation testing, radiation exposure, parametric measurements, software development, and design review presentation/preparation.
